The 2010 SEMA Show is going to showcase several supercharged vehicles and new supercharger kits. Held in Las Vegas the industry insiders show starts on November 2nd and runs to the 5th. Following is an idea of some of the great things we have to look forward to.

It’s Mustang Madness this year with the new 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L’s hitting the streets. At the SEMA show they’ll be showing off these hot new cars and the supercharger kits that’ll push them. Ford is bringing in nine customized Mustangs four of which are supercharged. These bad boys and girls include:

Creations n’ Chrome

The bright pink GT convertible sporting a Vortech supercharger and built for the American Cancer Society to raise awareness about breast cancer.

2011 Ford Mustang GT Convertible: Creations n' Chrome

Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords

The Mustang fan magazine shows off a blue GT that is beefed up with a Ford Racing supercharger kit.

Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords entry in SEMA 2010

Raceskinz

This white GT is a custom two seater that has been modded with a ProCharger supercharger.

Raceskinz Mustang GT

Tjin Edition

Conflicting reports on this grey Stang by Neil Tjin and one says it’s fitted with a Vortech supercharger kit.

Tjin Edition GT

Another Mustang that’ll be seen at the show is the WD-40/SEMA Cares 2011 GT. This great charity car pushes out over 600 HP with its Paxton NOVI 2200 supercharger kit and an Air-To-Air Intercooler. After the show this one of a kind Mustang will be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson with proceeds going to children’s charities Victory Junction Gang camp and Childhelp.

WD-40/SEMA Cares Mustang

Outside of the Mustangs there’s some really interesting vehicles heading to SEMA. One of them is the STaSIS Audi R8 Spyder roadster. The STaSIS R8 has a bolt on supercharger kit that adds 185 HP and 132 lb-ft of torque to the stock V10. The supercharged R8 V10 generates 710 HP and 523 lb-ft of torque with a 0-60 of 3.1 seconds.

The Supercharged STaSIS Audi R8 Spyder

For the racing and truck fans Toyota is taking their Tacoma X-Runner RTR (ready to race) pickup with a Tundra 5.7 V8 coupled with a Toyota Racing Development (TRD) supercharger kit. The RTR has SAE certified power of 504 HP and 550 lb-ft of torque and does it on premium fuel.

The Toyota Tacoma X-Runner RTR

Another SEMA show car will be the Active Autowerke Vorsteiner GTRS3 Widebody 2011 BMW M3 with an Active Autowerke Stage 2 E9X M3 supercharger kit. The E9X kit is powered by a HKS GTS8550 supercharger and is reported to push output to 650 HP and 440 lb-ft of torque.

Finally, an exciting project planed by Chev is during the SEMA Show they will be assembling a Corvette ZR1 LS9 6.2L supercharged engine. This is a continuation of Chevrolet’s “Corvette Engine Build Experience” which one of their participants took to build a 638 HP supercharged small block for their new Corvette ZR1.

HKS provides high performance aftermarket parts for a large variety of makes and models of cars. HKS was founded in the later months of 1973 by Hiroyuki Hasegawa and Goichi Kitagawa. HKS started out in a dairy-farming shed at the foot of Mount Fuji, Japan with funding from Sigma Automotive Co., Ltd.

A year after inception HKS made history by releasing the very first aftermarket turbocharger for passenger cars. The first turbo kit was for the L20B engine from the Datsun 240Z. Along with making history with their first turbocharger HKS was the first in producing an electronic turbo timer and boost controller. HKS was a pioneer in the in the Japanese aftermarket performance industry and to this day continue to release a large array of performance parts including superchargers.

In 1982 HKS expanded their operations when they opened HKS USA, Inc. Further expansion developed into the UK and Thailand while products continued to be developed for both Japanese and American domestic cars as well as European models.

By the late 1980′s HKS had become involved in the racing scene. They have competed in several forms of racing including drag, All-Japan Formula Three (F3), Japanese Touring Car Championship (JTCC), Super GT (Formerly All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship or JGTC), D1 Grand Prix (D1GP), Rally, Superbikes and more. Outside of their own racing teams they remain active in sponsoring other racers who carry the HKS name.

HKS continues to grow as a company and with its high quality performance offerings. HKS is currently a publicly traded joint stock company with subsidiaries now in California, USA (HKS USA), Cambrideshire, England (HKS Europe) and Bangkok, Tailand (HKS Thailand).
